A haunted puppet that allegedly tried to strangle its owner recently shocked a British paranormal investigator by seemingly moving its control bar all by itself. The puppet’s movement was captured on camera, but it took three long months of filming before the toy got caught using its supposed paranormal power.
According to the Daily Mail, the footage above was filmed by a well-known paranormal investigator named Jayne Harris. She specializes in haunted dolls, but she admits that she’s never seen anything like the haunted puppet footage above. It was taken in the middle of the night while the puppet sat inside a sealed cabinet.
“I’ve never had anything as exciting as this,” Harris said. “I’ve caught pictures of mists, orbs and shadows but nothing as physical as this video evidence.” She claims that the footage was not faked, and she believes that a spirit is responsible for making the puppet’s control bar fall into the cabinet’s glass window.
Some skeptics have pointed out that it’s possible that gravity is responsible for the movement of the puppet’s control bar. However, on the HD Paranormal Facebook page, Jayne Harris points out that the bar doesn’t look like it’s simply falling over — it’s movement is rather unnatural.
“What interested me was how it seems to move then stop then move again.”
The “haunted puppet” was given to Harris by a man named John last November. He claimed that it was given to him after his father’s death and that he never liked the puppet — he only kept it because his father loved it so much. It’s a wooden toy from the 1960s that bears a slight resemblance to Benjamin Franklin, but Harris simply refers to it as the “old man puppet.” She shared a photo of the toy on the HD Paranormal Instagram page a few weeks ago, and it looks pretty harmless.
Harris claims that she’s talked to a medium who says that the spirit attached to the toy is also an old man, and the puppet’s former owner believes that the spirit is a malevolent one — it allegedly tried to choke him while he was in bed. Jayne documented the owner’s experience in hopes of learning more about the spirit haunting the toy.
“I was wide awake in bed and thought I saw a shadow move from one side of the window to the other and worried something was trying to scare us. Then without warning my throat suddenly went really tight, I’ve never had anyone’s hands around my throat before so it was really scary.”
John said that he sat the haunted puppet beside his bed, and it gave him nightmares about an evil old man tormenting him while he tried to sleep. He claimed that he suffered from headaches while the doll was in his possession, and he felt better after getting rid of it.
John’s choking experience is very similar to that of the haunting that inspired the move Annabelle. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the horror film was based on the account of a paranormal team who investigated a Raggedy Ann rag doll that was supposedly being haunted by a “demonic spirit.” The evil entity allegedly used the doll to choke a man while searching for a suitable human host to possess.
The haunted old man puppet isn’t the first plaything that has intrigued Jayne Harris. According to the Mirror, she also owns a demonic doll named “Peggy,” and the terrifying toy possesses so much paranormal power that people allegedly get sick simply by looking at her picture. An internet video of the haunted doll has also been blamed for making computers freeze and blowing out light bulbs. One woman even claimed that Peggy gave her a heart attack.
Do you believe that it’s actually possible for puppets and dolls to be haunted by evil spirits?
