I had cancer when I was 4 yrs old. At that time, back in 1977, I had one of the rarest forms of cancer in kids.
One day, I was wheeled to a room ready to go into surgery. As I was being wheeled in, I saw an old man next to me who had just come out of surgery. I asked him why he was there and he turned to me and said “Oh honey, I had surgery on my heart but I didn’t make it.”
He assured me not to worry and told me that I was going to be fine and then he simply faded away. The nurse came in and I asked her “Where did the man go?” And she asked “What man honey? You are the only one here.”
