I have a Black-Eyed kids encounter to report. A few weeks ago, my wife and I were returning home after seeing a movie. As we stopped at an intersection two children were walking down the sidewalk. It was still early so there was nothing strange about kids still being around. I would guess they were around eleven or twelve—but they stepped off the sidewalk and walked over to our car. The lights were still red. I thought they would just run across in front of us. Kids do some stupid stuff.
One of them tapped on the driver side window of the car. I started to feel afraid. I didn’t know why I was afraid—but I was. This wasn’t a carjacker, or anything like that. These were young kids. What could they possibly do?
“Can we get in?” one of them asked. “We need to get in.”
I ignored them.
“Let us in,” he said again. “We have to get out of here.”
I turned to look at them and saw they had completely black eyes. These kids were dressed as you would expect modern kids to look. Jeans and sweaters. There was nothing strange about them until you saw their eyes. These eyes were black. Almost as though they were wearing contact lenses. It’s impossible to actually have eyes as black as those were. They kept tapping and I tried to ignore them waiting for the lights to turn to green.
“The lights won’t go green until you let us in,” the other kid said.
I turned and I asked them what they wanted.
“A ride,” he replied.
I have no idea what was going on with my wife at this point. She says she has no memory of it. All I remember from this point forward is being on the other side of the intersection and driving. I don’t know what happened to the kids, I have no idea if I jumped the lights. I can’t have blacked out. I have no idea how I got from those red lights to driving down the highway on the other side.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have read all the accounts on your site and haven’t seen any that deal with black outs, lost time etc.
