The Ghost of a Man Possessed

16 May 2017 | Haunted houses, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

My mother, father, and I were visiting my grandparents in Tennessee. At the time, two of my uncles and one of my aunts were living with my grandparents, as the house belonged to one of my uncles. I adored visiting my grandmother and was very fond of her.

Two weeks into our annual visit I saw an old man standing in the doorway smiling at me. To this very day, I can remember every detail about him. He was a little bald and his skin was gray, and had a beige shirt on with almost black pants. I remember turning around to continue playing with my dolls and turning back at least two or three times and seeing the man still there, pulling faces at me.

I laughed as I didn’t know much at the time, which puzzled my mother and grandfather. I remember turning around about the fourth time and the old man winking at me and gesturing for me to come closer. I shook my head no, and he started to storm at me. I jumped up and ran into the lounge, where I jumped over a couch and hid my head. I never saw him again but I do wonder who he was, and why he wanted me to come closer.
