Little Boot Prints in the Mud

26 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

When I was younger growing up in a third world country, I noticed that my fear of darkness was not because of the inability to see what’s around me, yet the presence that I felt came out when it turned pitch black. My mother used to leave my sister and I alone with our grandparents. Their home was very humble and small. Although inside not perfect, the outside garden was very nice. We had a mango tree that fed us on occasions. Poverty was the living standard for the norm in my area.

One occasion that stuck to me vividly would be the night I came outside to play after the rain. We had more mud than anything that day. I saw very tiny cowboy boot footprints leading to the backyard fence from my back door. It was not a toy either. They stood out due to the distance they made and consistency. It was wild. No one in my household owned a toy that could make those detailed prints.

Till this day I am afraid of leprechauns. I figured not to pay attention to it because they feed off our attention. Best thing you can do is ignore it and pray.
