The Nocturnal Visitor

07 January 2020 | Haunted houses, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

In 2017 and 2018, my friend and I brought our horses to ride the Gettysburg battle grounds. We both hoped to have a ghostly experience, but were blown away by the bright sunlit day time ghost figures I captured over my shoulder with my cell phone in 2017. After we returned to her home, she would talk about hearing someone walks around with boots on when she was alone.

In 2018, I spent the night before our trip at her house. At some point in the night I was awakened by what felt like 2 hands sneakily pull my sheet down from the foot of the bed. My mind was awake, but sleep paralysis kept me from speaking or moving. I tried desperately to say “no” or “stop” but couldn’t. I finally managed to make an angry grunt sound, and it stopped. As I lay there, I felt what I believe to be a hand and knee pressure on the corner of the foot of the bed. I said “no!” and it stopped. I was able to go back to sleep only to be awakened twice more with something double handedly patting heavily on the side of the mattress behind my back. All these happened and nobody else in the room, or even downstairs on the first floor where I was sleeping.

The next morning I reported to my friend what I’d experienced the night before. She’s a total believer, too. She told me that her granddaughter had slept in the room across the hall from where I’d slept. And, that she woke up screaming that a man was trying to get in bed with her.

Scariest paranormal encounter I’ve ever experienced. And, I’ve had a few.

Let me know if you’d like to see my Gettysburg picture?

    1. Great! Could you share them, please? How many do you have? Did you think you brought the ghost from the battlefield home with you or he is pre-existing in the house?
