Around 2002, my husband and I were shopping for a house on Long Island in New York. One was over 100-years old. The broker unlocked the front door and we went in. It had two floors, but we could already tell the house wasn’t for us upon entering the first floor. We agreed to go upstairs and see the whole house, but we were only in the house for maybe 5-minutes. Upon returning to the front door to leave, we found a rocking chair was blocking our exit. The chair was inside, blocking the door! Nobody was there with us. I looked at the broker and said
“How did that chair get there?”
She had a look of shock on her face and shook her head as if to say ‘don’t talk about it, let’s just leave.’
I wonder if that house is still there?
