Fifteen Terrifying, Real Haunted Hotels You Can Visit!

If you’re planning a vacation this year—you may want to check out this list of fifteen haunted hotels from cosmopolitan.com. These hotels might be more interesting than some of the destinations. Enjoy the list. You can read the original article, as always, by clicking here.

Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Let’s kick things off on a super creepy note! Back in the early years of this hotel (it was built in 1930), the owners let a financial advisor named Henry L. Doherty move into suite 870 with his family. During their time there, three people died, and not just three random people—Doherty’s maid, his wife, and his daughter. Ahem.

Though the suite remained vacant for 50 years, it was eventually renovated for guests. Now the hotel affectionately calls the room the “ghost suite” (that’s literally what you should say when you call to make a reservation), and there are reports of furniture that moves on its own, faint voices, random breezes, and doors slamming. Nope. Bye.

The Shelbourne in Dublin, Ireland

If you have any doubts that The Shelbourne is haunted, just ask actress Lily Collins. She was visited by a “presence” while staying at the hotel, and told Jimmy Fallon all about it. “I open my eyes and I hear a giggle,” she said. “And then I felt a rush of air across my body and I heard all these doors slamming.”

Lily ended up talking to the hotel staff, who casually informed her that she had probably just met the ghost of Mary Masters, a 7-year-old who died of cholera in 1846. Cool-cool-cool.
