Baubles, Beads And Those Bright Shiny Spirits

17 December 2018 | Your Stories

As Christmas is now almost upon us– we thought it might be a good idea to share some of the Christmas themed stories we have been sent all year around. We start today with this strange case of bashing baubles.

One year after Christmas I was up late watching TV. The family had gone to bed and I was enjoying the peace and quiet. Christmas can get fairly hectic with our family. I was lazing around when I started noticing the Christmas tree shaking out of the corner of my eye. Nothing too violent but it was certainly moving. Each time I would look at the tree straight on it would stop moving. When I went back to watching TV I could see it shaking in the corner. It gradually started get so violent that I could see the baubles shaking—then one fell off. I looked at the tree dead on and it was standing still. Looked away and another bauble fell off. This went on for the next half an hour before I went to bed. I wasn’t scared—just puzzled and wondered if I had drunk too much. The next day I got up and my grandmother asked me what I had done to the tree that previous evening. Apparently many of the baubles had fallen off.

I have no idea what was going on with the tree that year. There’s nothing paranormal about that house but I think something definitely took a liking to that tree.

    1. Possibly something WAS in there? Stopped moving when it felt watched? Little woodland critters etc. have been known to hitchhike on Christmas trees (“little critters” sounds much cuter than mice, rates, shrews, whatever). Something might have been trying to clear all that weird crap (aka baubles) out of the way to make a nest, perhaps?
