TRUE GHOST STORIES

Assaulted by a Ghost – A Living Hell

24 November 2016 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Your Stories

I’m female, married and fifty-one now, but when I was in my early thirties, single, and living alone, I lived at 5 Reabrook Road, Northfield, Birmingham, UK. The then Longbridge Car Plant was still there, built 1905 and demolished in 2005; it was literally just a two minute walk from my flat. Number 5, as several of the houses on that road and other roads were, I think, was originally built for the Plant workers and then converted to bedsit flats. I was on the ground floor and there was a woman living above me. My living room and bedroom were one room with the bathroom and kitchen separate. I had twenty-six pet mice and was up at 4 am six days a week for work at 5am. From the

The Cross My Mother Haunted

23 November 2016 | Your Stories, Your True Encounters

My mother died suddenly when I was a teenager and as a way of keeping her memory alive my father thought it would be a good idea for me to wear her cross.  He told me that he would come to my dorm at college that weekend and bring it with him. When he arrived, he went to get the envelope out of his jacket pocket, he couldn’t find it. More than a little bit worried, he went and searched the entire car to see if it might have fallen out. Not finding it there, he went back home and tried to find it—but had no luck. Finally giving up, he went went about the events of the day feeling very bad for having lost the cross he promised me.

Inherited From My Mother: A View of the Other Side

22 November 2016 | Your Stories

My mother died when I was 17 years old. The night before she died, she ran into my bedroom and woke me up. She told me that there was someone in the house. She was terrified. I told her that I had heard and seen nothing—but she continued to rant about someone being in the house. Eventually she calmed down and took my father’s gun to bed with her. The next day she died. Nothing paranormal caused her death—just a car accident. After that I started to see things. I was still terrified of the dark even as a teenager and I wouldn’t sleep unless I had a night light. One night, the light fell off my bedside table. I fixed it, got back into my bed and saw a

The Black Eyed Girl of Cannock Chase

21 November 2016 | Black Eyed Kids, Haunted locations

Cannock Chase is a place many have described as tranquil or beautiful. A part of England where few would ever dream of finding anything out of the ordinary. It is a place of dog walkers, fishing and natural life. It also seems to be a place of unnatural death. There have been several terrifying accounts of black-eyed children in the area. And these accounts seem to be becoming more frequent… A mother and daughter were walking through Birches Valley when they heard the screams of a young child. By all accounts they couldn’t tell if it was a boy or a girl, but the child seemed to be in distress and sounded extremely close to them. The two of them turned and ran towards the source of the scream. They

Poltergeist Terror in South Shields…

18 November 2016 | Haunted locations, Poltergeist

As yesterday’s post was so popular with readers, we thought it would be interesting to share another famous poltergeist account to terrorize you and keep you awake all night. Poltergeist intrusions have always been some of the most fascinating cases in paranormal investigation. From the Enfield Haunting, the Amityville House through to the Monk of Pontefract, much of this activity is well known for being prankish, playful, and—although creepy—it is not particularly harmful. However, there are those cases in which a poltergeist will escalate its activities to a terrifying and intense level, running amok with ever more impressive displays of strength and power. One such case that has become one of the most incredibly potent poltergeist manifestations of all time was a spooky series of events surrounding a young family

“We Want You Gone…” The Living Hell of the Thornton Heath Poltergeist

16 November 2016 | Creepy places, November 2016, Poltergeist, Your Stories

In the early 1970s in Thornton Heath, England, a family was tormented by poltergeist phenomena that started one August night when they were woken in the middle of the night by a blaring bedside radio that had somehow turned itself on. Not only had the radio managed to turn itself on, but it had tuned itself to a foreign-language station. This was the beginning of a string of events that lasted nearly four years, terrifying one family to breaking point. A lampshade repeatedly was knocked to the floor by invisible hands. During the Christmas season of 1972, an ornament was hurled across the room, smashing into the husband’s forehead. As one member of the family sat down, the Christmas tree started to shake violently. The New Year didn’t bring any

Let Us In! The BEK Strike in Arkansas

14 November 2016 | Black Eyed Kids, Your Stories

This happened to me a few nights ago. I can’t explain it. But from my research, I think I had an encounter with the black-eyed kids you have been posting about. Please share my account with others. Last Sunday, I headed out to mow my lawn. In the front of my house I have a large garden. To my horror, someone had been by and stepped all over my roses. I was very angry and upset, but resolved myself to putting some work in and fixing my garden. The next day, I saw two kids walking down my road. Keep in mind my road has several houses, so we all know each other quite well. It’s a very nice community. These kids looked to be around thirteen or fourteen years

The Statue of Virgin Mary That Caught A Thief

11 November 2016 | Haunted locations, Your Stories

Periodically, we read about religious icons that display some supposed supernatural, paranormal or downright miraculous activity. Statues that cry tears, open their eyes, move around, smile…. you must have read at least one such story? However, I promise you that you have never heard about the statue of the Virgin Mary that caught a thief…. Visitors to the Church of St. James the Greater in the old town of Prague may not actually notice the severed arm hanging from a meat hook as they enter the Church. After all, it isn’t actually the sort of relic you would expect in a Church. However, there is a 400-year old mummified arm hanging from a meathook as you enter the Church if you look carefully. How did it get there? The story

Don’t Let Them In! The Black Eyed Kids Warning

10 November 2016 | Black Eyed Kids, Your Stories

This took place in Arizona in the mid-80’s. One late evening I woke up to loud knocks on the front door of my house. My husband was fast asleep, and I didn’t want to go down and open the door. It wasn’t normal for us to have late night visitors—so I did wonder if it was an accident of some type? I looked out of the window and I couldn’t see anything. It was pitch black outside. I woke my husband and asked him to go down and find out what was happening. He wasn’t very happy—but got up, put his robe on and went downstairs. I watched from the landing as he opened the door. Two children were standing there. Both looked young, and both looked like they were

The Day The Devil Came to Visit

08 November 2016 | Haunted houses

Loftus Hall in Wexford, Ireland is considered to be Ireland’s most haunted house. More a mansion than a house, Loftus Hall was built by the Redmond family during the Black Death of 1350. It was confiscated by the Loftus family in 1650 during the Cromwellian era. It has subsequently been both a nunnery and a hotel before falling into disrepair and it is now slowly being restored. During the 16th Century, the occupants were the Tottenham family – Anne Loftus had married Mr. Tottenham and they lived their quite happily with their two daughters – Anne and Elizabeth. The house was the center of social activity often filled with well to do guests enjoying the countryside and the Sea air. Occasionally, storms in the area would force ships to harbor

The Screaming Skull

07 November 2016 | Haunted houses

A stone throw away from where I grew up stands the beautiful Burton Agnes Hall. It was built in the late 1600’s by one Sir Henry Griffith, the 2nd Baronet of Burton Agnes. He planned a grand home for his family that included three daughters and the entire family took great interest as the home was being built. His youngest daughter, Anne, whose painting now hangs in the Hall, was particularly interest in the design and building of the house. She was said to be the prettiest of his daughters and one can well imaging her visiting with her father to inspect progress. However, tragedy was to strike as one day, when Anne was taking a trip in the local countryside, she and her party were set upon by robbers.
