Let’s hear her story. When we bought our house, we didn’t realize that the house had incorporated gravestones from an old graveyard in its design. It was only when we took several layers of wallpaper and a layer of plaster from the wall that we saw the inscribed gravestones lining our sitting room wall. As creepy as this was in itself, we didn’t pay too much attention and got to work renovating our house in the Cotswolds, United Kingdom. After having the house fully decorated, we moved in. It was our dream

Irish priest asks for back-up as demand for exorcisms rises ‘exponentially’

29 January 2018 | January 2018, Your Stories

An Irish priest and exorcist is asking the country’s bishops for more support after noticing a dramatic increase in demonic activity in the country. In a recent interview with The Irish Catholic, Fr. Pat Collins said he has been overwhelmed with the number of requests for exorcisms from the faithful in Ireland. In an open letter, he has urged the Irish bishops to train more priests to deal with the demand. “(I)t’s only in recent years that the demand has risen exponentially,” Collins told The Irish Catholic. Collins’ comments are on par with those of other exorcists throughout the world, including the International Association of Exorcists (IAE), a group of 400 Catholic leaders and priests, which has reported a dramatic increase in demonic activity in recent years. 16 November 2016 | Creepy places, November 2016, Poltergeist, Your Stories

In the early 1970s in Thornton Heath, England, a family was tormented by poltergeist phenomena that started one August night when they were woken in the middle of the night by a blaring bedside radio that had somehow turned itself on. Not only had the radio managed to turn itself on, but it had tuned itself to a foreign-language station. This was the beginning of a string of events that lasted nearly four years, terrifying one family to breaking point. A lampshade repeatedly was knocked to the floor by invisible hands. The New Year didn’t bring any

If you’re ever travelling through Alabama during your vacation time… you may find yourself face-to-face with the very essence of evil. A place called Sloss Furnaces. This dark, and grisly place, from 1882 to 1971, transformed coal and ore from surrounding acres into the hard steel that would pave the way for industy. From skyscrapers in New York to cars being built in Detroit, America came to rely on Sloss Furnaces for providing materials needed to produce thousands of products.  But this success came at a dangerously high price… In the early 1900’s, James “Slag” Wormwood, was foreman of the “Graveyard Shift”, the period between sunset and sunrise, where a crew of nearly one hundred and fifty workers toiled to keep the furnace fed. During the summer months, temperatures throughout

The Disappearing Smoking Ghost: Have You Encountered Anything Like This?

22 September 2016 | Creepy places, September 2016, Your Stories

I worked for a development company that had purchased an entire neighborhood of Victorian homes to renovate and resell. Every home for a two block radius was empty except for the one that I lived in; which was near completion and was going to be used as the model home. One afternoon, I was almost out of cigarettes and decided to walk to a corner store a few blocks away. Keep in mind that this was an out of the way neighborhood, there were no workmen around, all of the homes were vacant, and the entire area was deserted. I had only walked about one block, and was walking looking down at the side walk lost in thought when a few feet ahead of me I heard a voice say

The Dark Presence: A True Paranormal Account of A Suburban Haunting

29 July 2016 | Creepy places, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

The first day I moved into my new house was amazing. I had been living with my parents, and I had never felt better that I did to move into my own place. After the house movers had left I had some washing up to do. While doing that chore I heard footsteps from the hallway. These steps went halfway up the stairs and stopped. I could feel the hair on the back of my neck stand to attention. I felt this sudden feeling of dread and it was really uncomfortable. I checked all four bedrooms and found nothing. The house was silent, but I still had this feeling of dread. I carried on with the washing up trying to forget about it and about half hour later. I mean,
