The Blue Orb From The War of Independence

15 December 2016 | Ghost hunting, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Last year, I went with parents to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. I had never been there before, and I was excited to go. That area is known for having a bloody history, with a lot of battles from the war of Independence. For something to do we all decided to do a ghost tour. The tour guide began his story-telling. We walked on a little bit, and then we came upon an eerie looking graveyard that was next to a church. We were walking past the fence, and it was then that I noticed a blue circle hovering in front of one of the church windows. I stopped to take a look, thinking that it was a light coming from inside of the church. I was confused, because I instantly

The Figure In The Garden

13 December 2016 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Your True Encounters

I was at Arlington Court in Devon, United Kingdom. Arlington Court is a beautiful old house and estate which belongs to the National Trust with very large grounds covering many hundreds of acres of gardens and woods with several lakes and a carriage museum. It really is an exciting trip. I was out on a walk with my wife and three young children last summer. This is at the old lake which is on the mile walk away from the house. I was looking at the children when I momentarily glanced away towards the lake. I then in a split second saw a young woman with blonde hair wearing a long pale blue dress looking out over the lake. Then she was gone. I looked back towards my wife who

Ghost Hunting at Elgin State Hospital Cemetery

05 December 2016 | Ghost hunting, Haunted locations, Shadow people, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

This is the story of a ghost hunting trip to the old abandoned Elgin Mental hospital cemetery. I first heard about it online, where I read stories of the former grounds keeper hearing chilling sounds and heard it said that there may be three bodies in every grave. For over 100 years, the hospital operated as the Illinois State Institution for the insane. The unwanted were sent there to die and many horrific experiments were performed during the early years of treating mental diseases. Over 1000 people are said to be buried in the cemetery and it has a long held reputation as being haunted. We initially had a hard time finding the place and we were about to give up when suddenly, we found it. Immediately, we could feel

“I will Kill You” – Mountain Ash Hospital Ghost Threatens A Ghost Hunter

28 November 2016 | Audible Activity, Evidence?, Haunted locations

Mountain Ash is a quiet Welsh mining town located near Caerphilly. The General hospital, a community hospital built partially using deductions from the Miner’s salaries, was closed in around 2012 with several others in the area, to make way for a new and larger hospital. Established in 1910, the hospital served several generations of locals in the area through birth to death. These days, the site has been heavily vandalized, stripped of metal, and its slate roof to now sit abandoned and forlorn in the valley. It’s only visitors these days are urban explorers and ghost hunters. The town has had its share of paranormal activity being the site of reported live fish falling from the sky in 1841! Like many abandoned hospitals, it’s own derelict hospital has gained a

Assaulted by a Ghost – A Living Hell

24 November 2016 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Your Stories

I’m female, married and fifty-one now, but when I was in my early thirties, single, and living alone, I lived at 5 Reabrook Road, Northfield, Birmingham, UK. The then Longbridge Car Plant was still there, built 1905 and demolished in 2005; it was literally just a two minute walk from my flat. Number 5, as several of the houses on that road and other roads were, I think, was originally built for the Plant workers and then converted to bedsit flats. I was on the ground floor and there was a woman living above me. My living room and bedroom were one room with the bathroom and kitchen separate. I had twenty-six pet mice and was up at 4 am six days a week for work at 5am. From the

The Black Eyed Girl of Cannock Chase

21 November 2016 | Black Eyed Kids, Haunted locations

Cannock Chase is a place many have described as tranquil or beautiful. A part of England where few would ever dream of finding anything out of the ordinary. It is a place of dog walkers, fishing and natural life. It also seems to be a place of unnatural death. There have been several terrifying accounts of black-eyed children in the area. And these accounts seem to be becoming more frequent… A mother and daughter were walking through Birches Valley when they heard the screams of a young child. By all accounts they couldn’t tell if it was a boy or a girl, but the child seemed to be in distress and sounded extremely close to them. The two of them turned and ran towards the source of the scream. They

Poltergeist Terror in South Shields…

18 November 2016 | Haunted locations, Poltergeist

As yesterday’s post was so popular with readers, we thought it would be interesting to share another famous poltergeist account to terrorize you and keep you awake all night. Poltergeist intrusions have always been some of the most fascinating cases in paranormal investigation. From the Enfield Haunting, the Amityville House through to the Monk of Pontefract, much of this activity is well known for being prankish, playful, and—although creepy—it is not particularly harmful. However, there are those cases in which a poltergeist will escalate its activities to a terrifying and intense level, running amok with ever more impressive displays of strength and power. One such case that has become one of the most incredibly potent poltergeist manifestations of all time was a spooky series of events surrounding a young family

The Dead Patient

02 November 2016 | Haunted locations, Your Stories

I had cancer when I was 4 yrs old. At that time, back in 1977, I had one of the rarest forms of cancer in kids. One day, I was wheeled to a room ready to go into surgery. As I was being wheeled in, I saw an old man next to me who had just come out of surgery. I asked him why he was there and he turned to me and said “Oh honey, I had surgery on my heart but I didn’t make it.” He assured me not to worry and told me that I was going to be fine and then he simply faded away. The nurse came in and I asked her “Where did the man go?” And she asked “What man honey? You are

Fear, Loathing and Terror Inside the Sanitarium

01 November 2016 | Ghost Hunting, Haunted locations

Have you ever been lonely? Ever wondered if you are truly alone? Sometimes the places we visit can be alive with activity—and today’s terrific terror is a place that must have felt lonely, and a place that still feels alive. It’s a sanitarium in Michigan where many lost their lives and, according to some people, it is a place where many patients still reside… beyond the grave. A 45,000 square foot institutional facility made up of a variety of brick buildings, and left in a state of neglect, complete with broken windows, sat in the middle of a well-kept neighborhood. This sanitarium was in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The neighbors hated walking past the building, not because the building was dilapidated—but because they say it gave off an aura. An aura that

Halloween Haunts #3: The Bodies Rest in a Lake of Death – The Tragedy of Fairytale

31 October 2016 | G. Michael Vasey's Nightmare Corner, Haunted houses, Haunted locations

Back in the 16th century, the Pangerl family settled in the beautiful and mountainous Šumava region of Bohemia to farm, eventually building three farm buildings. Little did they know how their decision would eventually result in tragedy. A couple of hundred years later, an old and ugly woman built a shack on the edge of the village of Bradna and moved in. She was a fearsome creature, and it is said that she had teeth like millstones and was so ugly that the local folk avoided meeting her. Slowly, the inevitable rumors began. Strange chanting sounds were often heard by passersby and foul-smelling potions bubbled away in large earthenware pots. It wasn’t long before the villagers suspected the old crone of witchcraft and Satanism. Their fears were finally confirmed when
