Hotel Room Hell
15 August 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
When I was 15 I traveled to Europe with my family. We stayed in Ettal, Germany in a small inn for a few nights. My parents had a double [bed] on the second floor, my sisters had the double bedroom next to theirs, and I was lucky enough to have a single room all to myself at the far end of the hall. When we went to check in to our rooms, as soon as I entered the hallway our rooms were in, I remember almost feeling as though I walked into a ‘wall’ of… bad energy? I just felt so unnerved and uneasy in that hallway, but I passed it off as an overactive imagination. I slept the first night without any issues other than waking up a few

The Creeper in the Woods
08 August 2019 | Creepy places, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
It was 2003, I was in 8th grade, so about 13-years old. My family was fairly poor and my dad had a hard time keeping a stable job so, we moved around a lot in my childhood. We had just moved from Mississippi to North Carolina and found a dated A-frame house nestled quaintly on the side of a mountain with a creek at the bottom of the hill. The house was surprisingly cheap, probably because it was previously a vacation rental that wasn’t getting much business by the looks of it. The house had an odd vibe to say the least. I had explored the woods by my house several times that summer, even becoming lost at one point, but after a couple of hours of following the creek,

Haunted Hall of Fame?
23 July 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
As unbelievable as this sounds, I assure you it is 100% true. Back in 2004 we had been renting space for our theater company. The building the space occupied was the site of the former Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame which had been recently moved to a more modern space in the atrium of the upgraded stadium. The space I am speaking of was the Hall of Fame’s first permanent facility and was formally dedicated on April 3,1976, by President Gerald R. Ford. It consisted of a huge open space, and a large office. The bathrooms were located in an area on the other side of the building. In order to reach them we’d have to go through a long dark unused area which could be quite eerie, especially

Lost In The Hosiery Mill
18 July 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
I can remember as a child when my dad worked as a shift manager at a hosiery mill in a rough neighborhood close to Rossville, GA. I remember going by with my mom to see him at work for he would be there working until dusk. Or, I’d go with him to work on the weekends when he’d work half a day and then we’d hit up the flea market down the street together. Anyway, everyone was always talking in hushed tones about the ghostly lady roaming about the hosiery mill, both day and night. Most everyone who had seen her said she was petite, had shoulder length curly hair, wore a civil war era dress and was completely transparent. If approached and questioned as why she was there or

The Night Shift Security Guard
11 July 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
The Native business I work for is also next to a Native cemetery. When I close the buildings and lock up. I hear whispers and knocks. When I first started ,the other security guards mentioned that it’s a common thing. How can people become so cool with stuff like this? I understand the situation and how you don’t show fear. But, I’m making this post now and I’m sitting here at work looking at my cameras seeing lights that are on that were off when I went and checked the whole building for anybody or anything (the building has a security system that was working). And there are two buildings I watch. Out of the 2, the one closest to the cemetery has the most activity. Originally submitted by

A Trip to Wales
10 July 2019 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
About 25-years ago, I and a few friends went to stay for a week at the small Welsh estate of a work friend. He had inherited a small parcel of land and a 16th Century house on the coast in mid Wales and rented it out to help keep it maintained. As it turned out, the house was very haunted. On arrival, we decided which bedrooms each family would use. We chose the master suite, my parents another room and some friends yet another leaving one bedroom free. The entry hall was quite grand, wood paneled, very gloomy with a staircase that came down from both sides to a central balcony and from there, to the ground floor. Later, we were to discover a Priest hole in the floor of

Faith and Fireflies
28 June 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
I wanted to share something original; something that I’ve shared with close friends, but have never written down, until now. With that being said, this piece is written with dedication to my best friend, Hope, who fought valiantly against cancer, but succumbed to it in 2015. This is a story I shared with her, which helped strengthened her faith and belief in God. Inevitably, it was through this story that she gave her life to Christ a month before her death. FAITH AND FIREFLIES I worked for the Department of Natural Resources the Summer after my freshman year of college. My love for nature and the Summer sun found me garbed in hunter green, selling daily and annual passes to vacationers and residents, alike, looking to enjoy a picnic or weekend

The U.S. Hotel
21 June 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
The U.S. Hotel on South Juniata Street in Holidaysburg, PA, dates originally to 1835. Adjacent to the western end of the Pennsylvania Canal and the Allegheny Portage Railroad, it was a stopping point for many people traveling west for the majority of the 19th century. It was destroyed by fire in 1871 and rebuilt in 1886, by brewmaster, Engelbert Gromiller. It no longer functions as a hotel but is now a restaurant of some renown. The hotel, like many old buildings of its kind, is purported to be haunted. I had the opportunity to eat here recently and I can tell you the food is superb. Having some extended family in the Alltoona, PA area, we met for brunch and had a great time. Our discussion during brunch, of course,

The Mystery of the Union Bleachery Mill
07 June 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
Union Bleaching and Finishing Co., the Buncombe Road company long known in Greenville as Union Bleachery, was founded in 1902 by the “New York capitalists,” led by J.B. Duke. It is an old abandoned textile mill located on Old Buncombe Rd. in Greenville, SC that closed back in 2003 because of a mysterious fire that took place then. In 2017, the Abandoned property caught fire again leaving only half of the building. This abandoned mill is known to be one of the most contaminated abandoned ruins in the state of South Carolina. Young adults and teenagers often explore this abandoned property because of its outstanding beautiful views and the sinister history behind the mill. The rumor is that a mysterious light, apparitions or shadowy figures that take human form, and

The Ghost in Belize
27 May 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
My husband, friends and I recently got back from an amazing trip to Belize. The last place we stayed was in a town called Placencia, and we got a room in these beautiful cabanas right on the beach. We stayed there for a total of 3 nights, and the first night was uneventful. However, upon returning to our place the second night after a day of beach activities, it seemed that the atmosphere had changed a bit. My husband and I were sleeping in the living room, adjacent to the kitchen. Down the hall from the kitchen was a room to the right, where two of my friends were sleeping, and a room to the left, where my other friend was sleeping. At the end of the hall was the

A Ghostly Horse?
20 May 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
So my mother has always had crazy things happen to her. My grandmother told us when my mom was born it was pouring rain and she could see a shadow outside the hospital window…. she cried that whole first day because she felt like something had come for my mom because she wasn’t meant to live but here we are… when my mom got older she started doing things she wanted to do, you know adolescent things. Well they had snuck out one day when she was about 14 and when it was time to leave everyone split off and walked home… it was past midnight. As my mom walked home, she heard something behind her… like horse hooves on the road. She stopped and turned around but nothing was

Shadow Witch and A Haunted Neighborhood
15 May 2019 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Old hag, Shadow people, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
I was born and raised in Tucson,Az. The youngest of four children. When I was about 5 years old we moved into the house I would spend most of my childhood. It was a new neighborhood at the time in the early 80”s on the northwest side of town. The house was a simple 3-bedroom ranch style house. It looked pretty much like all the other houses on the block. I was pretty fortunate that there were a few kids my age to play with. I became good friends with the kid next door. Wesley was his name. He was a year younger but he loved G.I. Joe as much as I did. We played G.I. Joe all the time and when we weren’t playing G.I.Joe we were exploring the

Rider in the Forest
30 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
We are short on stories and submissions at the moment. So, if you have had a paranormal experience – do please tell us! Anyway, this one happened to me many years ago. We were camping in the English Lake District – amazing lace if you have never been. We were with family friends and we had all walked down to the local pub maybe a mile or so from the campsite for a pub dinner and a few drinks. I would be a teenager at the time so no beer. It was dark when we set off up the country road huddled together around the single flashlight that we had as a group. As we walked somewhere around the halfway point. We all heard the faint galloping noise of a

Little Boot Prints in the Mud
26 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
When I was younger growing up in a third world country, I noticed that my fear of darkness was not because of the inability to see what’s around me, yet the presence that I felt came out when it turned pitch black. My mother used to leave my sister and I alone with our grandparents. Their home was very humble and small. Although inside not perfect, the outside garden was very nice. We had a mango tree that fed us on occasions. Poverty was the living standard for the norm in my area. One occasion that stuck to me vividly would be the night I came outside to play after the rain. We had more mud than anything that day. I saw very tiny cowboy boot footprints leading to the backyard

Haunted Madagascar
25 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters
Another place I haven’t been to, but I would love to go is no other than haunted Madagascar. Haunted? Oh yes, probably one of the most haunted places in the world. My uncle Jose “Joe” Causing, a former Merchant Marine has been to Madagascar, it was a two day stopover. What Uncle Joe says about Madagascar: “Madagascar is a very beautiful place. The flora is breathtaking. The island is one of the largest islands in the world, it covers 226,917 square miles. There is all kinds of animal life, there are lemurs, chameleons, weevils and the Malagasy giant rat. When I came across this rat, I thought it was a kangaroo. It’s not a scary looking sewer rat, it’s actually kind of cute. Now, back to your original question. Is
