If you’re ever travelling through Alabama during your vacation time… you may find yourself face-to-face with the very essence of evil. A place called Sloss Furnaces. This dark, and grisly place, from 1882 to 1971, transformed coal and ore from surrounding acres into the hard steel that would pave the way for industy. From skyscrapers in New York to cars being built in Detroit, America came to rely on Sloss Furnaces for providing materials needed to produce thousands of products. But this success came at a dangerously high price… In the early 1900’s, James “Slag” Wormwood, was foreman of the “Graveyard Shift”, the period between sunset and sunrise, where a crew of nearly one hundred and fifty workers toiled to keep the furnace fed. The Hanging Man Of Amarillo

In the mid-1950’s I was traveling with my husband to Amarillo, Texas. It was a nice day, and we were enjoying ourselves. We drove south and to my surprise we passed a man hanging from a tree. He was dressed in a pair of jeans, no shirt, no shoes. It completely caught me by surprise. I asked my husband if he saw it, and he hadn’t. He just thought it was my imagination. I thought that perhaps I’d imagined it too. We arrived in Amarillo, spent six weeks with my family, and then we returned home. We were close to the area where I’d seen the hanging man. We stopped for some dinner, and a rest. My husband and I started talking to one of the waitresses there who told

The Woman in the Waiting Room.
10 October 2016 | Haunted locations, Your Stories

It was very early in the morning, around two or so, and unsurprisingly, no one else was in the waiting room. So I had a seat to wait on until I could go back. I had been sitting for a while when a young woman came in and sat down near me. We smiled at each other and started talking. After a while, a nurse came by, looked over at us and stopped. Looking at me the nurse asked if there was something wrong. I answered, “No, we are just talking” The nurse looked at me as if I was crazy. Then she said
