Paranormal Corner: Pennsville family experiences activity; JUMPS witnesses phenomenon

19 May 2015 | Evidence?, Ghosts in the news

Blow flies.

They eat decomposing bodies.

They lay their eggs on rotting meat or in animal feces.

And a swarm of them showed up for no reason in a home located in a pleasant neighborhood in Pennsville Township.

After moving into the cozy rancher in 2011, the family – husband, wife and four young children – began noticing strange activity.

The matriarch – who believes she is empathic – noticed the strange experiences and began investigating the phenomenon on her own using a Ouija board, and calling upon a medium.

Still in need of help, she reached out to Jersey Unique Minds Paranormal Society to request an investigation.

“We live here in fear,” she said. “This house drains our energy and is tearing us apart.”

As an empath, the client is open to the paranormal, however, her husband – a military man – was skeptical about the activity in the home until he experienced it himself late one night.

“It was about 3 a.m. and he was playing XBox when he heard what sounded like someone kicking the wall,” she said, motioning to the wall between a front living room and bathroom.

There was no one in the bathroom.

Feeling a bit shaken, her husband got up and went into another room where he heard the same banging sound coming from the ceiling.

“He said it was like someone was stomping,” she said.

There was more banging in two different locations until the man finally left the room.

“It was following me,” he said, visibly still disturbed by the incident.

Prior to the family moving in, two people lost their lives in the home – the husband died of a heart attack in the master bedroom, and the wife committed suicide in a small, front bedroom.

“We had a (priest) come in and do a blessing ceremony,” she said. “He did a cleansing in the room where the woman committed suicide.”

But the activity has not let up.

Myself and three other investigators went into the home recently and conducted a very interesting, four-hour session.

The first strange incident I encountered occurred while investigating the “suicide room,” but didn’t actually happen inside the room.

Investigator Kathy Zimm and I were quietly conducting an EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) session when we suddenly saw a light come on in the hallway outside the door, which was slightly ajar.

Kathy went out into the hallway and saw that no additional lights had come on.

The rest of the team and the client were investigating in the large living room, so I went to see if one of them had either walked by with a flashlight or had seen the light we had seen.

Neither had occurred.

We never did figure out what that strange light was.

Zimm and I moved into the master bedroom where we got a couple strange K2 hits and she felt a “prickly” chill, but nothing was extreme.

After returning to base, we discovered the other half of our team and the client had experienced a strange light of their own about 10 minutes after ours.

But the big finale came towards the end of the night.

We were all in the large living room conducting an EVP session and getting quite a few good responses.

We were asking if whoever was with us understood that the family was concerned and just wanted to know who was there with them.

During the session, the two K2 meters we had set up beside each other had been lighting up two to three lights on command in response to several of our questions; sometimes both, other times one or the other.

“Give us a big burst of lights if you understand what we’re saying,” I said, asking the spirit to light up all the lights on the K2 meter.

Not five seconds later, both K2 meters lit up all the way to the red light.

It was the first and only time the K2s had lit up to the red light the entire night.

We still have to review the hours of audio and video footage, but that reaction seemed to indicate the family does indeed have an unseen guest.
