Imagine growing up in a house where the resident ghost beat you up?!
Well, thats what two brothers from the city of Hull in England described recently in the local paper. Darren and Chris Buttery were punched, kicked, slapped and pushed down the stairs by a ghost in their childhood home. According to the Hull Daily Mail, Darren described his experiences as follows;
“The house was absolutely terrifying – at first it seemed like the ghost was playing with us as it used to bang the doors shut and lock them so we couldn’t get in and then move things around the rooms. Once the living room was turned upside down, and other times it used to move the rocking chair with a clown sat on it from one side of the room to the other, and also shuffle the bed in the front room about the place. There used to be creaking on the steps and the sound of a child crying, but we never found where the noise was coming from.
We had to get a vicar in, Reverend Tom Willis, to perform an exorcism, but the poltergeist punched him in the guts and pushed him down the stairs. He couldn’t get rid of it, so he asked the council to move us out as it was too dangerous for us kids to be living there, and it got to a point several times where we had to be taken out of the house by neighbours and other family. We never had much of a life living there with all that went on.”
His brother also experienced the ghost or poltergeist saying,
“Things were thrown about in my room by something that I couldn’t see, the cupboards were banged and I could hear a bairn crying through the walls. It was real scary and frightening having to live in the house, especially as a child as it’s so hard to understand what is going on.
Our family eventually moved out in 1980 as the council sorted a new house for us. They told us that the house on Wansford Grove was going to be demolished, so that other people couldn’t get hurt, but more people moved in after us. Living there was a terrifying experience and the sooner the houses are demolished on the street, the better.”
