Carlsbad Lagoon: A Sinister Siren Who Lures Her Victims

10 February 2018 | January 2018, Your Stories

The water is so clear that you can almost see deep into the lagoon. As enchanting as this may sound, there’s one big drawback to this – you’ll get to see her. Floating naked close to the surface, nothing about the Siren hints to her ferocious nature except the blood around her mouth. Those who have the misfortune of seeing her are tricked into believing that she’s a corpse. The water around her looks a little bit murkier, but anyone who has seen her and survived to tell about has had a difficult time explaining it. Locals have speculated that she actually bites her own lips to create the blood, adding to the illusion that she’s injured and needs help. But if she can bleed – does that mean she’s still alive?

The Haunted Tunnel In Boston That’s Not For The Faint Of Heart

08 February 2018 | January 2018, Your Stories

However, it’s a safe bet that you don’t spend your commute stressing about ghosts! But maybe that’s not such a wild thing to worry about. Maybe you should worry about the remains of British soldiers who died during the Revolutionary War. Over time, the bones had become mixed together, making it unclear exactly how many people were originally buried in this mass grave. After several months of excavation, between 900 and 1,100 bodies were removed. The bones were reinterred at Central Burying Ground on the Common. You’ve probably seen the marker for the mass grave, even if you

The Haunting of Laura – A Poltergeist Story

07 February 2018 | January 2018, Your Stories

Traumatic events can sometimes trigger poltergeist activity, but for one young girl, the torment seemed to have no end It is currently theorized that poltergeist activity arises out of the subconscious of a living person, called an agent. This agent, very often a young girl, usually is known to be under some kind of stress, whether it is emotional, physical or psychological. By some mechanism that is still unknown to science (and paranormal researchers), this inner stress can manifest as phenomena outside the agent. The case of Laura B. might very well qualify her as a poltergeist agent. As a young girl she suffered the anguish of an alcoholic father, who often lashed out in violent anger. It’s not surprising, then, that Laura was terrified of her home’s basement at night, since

The Haunting of Hecker Pass / Hwy 152

Irish priest asks for back-up as demand for exorcisms rises ‘exponentially’

29 January 2018 | January 2018, Your Stories

An Irish priest and exorcist is asking the country’s bishops for more support after noticing a dramatic increase in demonic activity in the country. In a recent interview with The Irish Catholic, Fr. Pat Collins said he has been overwhelmed with the number of requests for exorcisms from the faithful in Ireland. In an open letter, he has urged the Irish bishops to train more priests to deal with the demand. “(I)t’s only in recent years that the demand has risen exponentially,” Collins told The Irish Catholic. Collins’ comments are on par with those of other exorcists throughout the world, including the International Association of Exorcists (IAE), a group of 400 Catholic leaders and priests, which has reported a dramatic increase in demonic activity in recent years. In 2014, the

The Hag Who Haunts A British Haunted House

27 January 2018 | January 2018, Your Stories

This is the terrifying moment a brave volunteer was filmed in Britain’s ‘most haunted house’ – and appeared to turn into a witch. Paranormal investigator Brad Mac was astonished to see a colleague of his – known only as Debbie – ‘transform’ into the hag while he and five others spent the night at The Cage, in St Osyth village in Essex. The property served as a prison for those convicted of witchcraft in the Elizabethan era. And Debbie certainly seemed to channel its witchy history as hidden camera footage shows her changing in front of our very eyes: her nose becomes strangely pointed, her eyes darken, with a malevolent glint – and her mouth seems to stretch into a ‘Joker-like’ grimace. The Cursed Chair of Thomas Busby

19 January 2018 | January 2018, Your Stories

Can a chair be cursed? If you visit the small jewel of a museum in Thirsk you will see the rather strange sight of an oak chair hung from the ceiling in one of the display areas. The chair was suspended at the explicit request of its owner to prevent anyone from ever sitting on it including maintenance and cleaner. The museum has never broken its promise in over 30 years despite numerous requests and even the threat of legal action. Local legend has it that the chair belonged to Thomas Busby, a thug, thief and drunkard who lived in North Yorkshire in the latter part of the 1600s. Busby married Elizabeth, the daughter of a small time petty crock, Daniel Awety who lived near the village of Kirby Wiske. Awety had
