The Entity and a Decade of Poison

26 October 2020 | Haunted houses, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

April 2010, I find myself thoroughly injected in yet another hopeless, mundane, uneventful day in deep east Texas. Twenty-two years old with more life experience than most could dream at that age, though little evidence existed to support that claim other than the slide reel of countless memories ever rotating in my mind. At this point, I am approaching my 4th wedding anniversary however it wouldn’t be smiles as she was residing for a prolonged stay out of state, I’m staying with a friend and his wife attempting to find some financial stability. They were kind enough to let me work out what I had needed and provided me a room to make my own out of an old art studio in the rear of the house. The couple that

Haunted House

15 October 2020 | Haunted houses, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

My parents house is haunted. I’ve known this since we moved in when I was 14. Things would constantly be moved around and us kids were always blamed for it. It was a two story house and we would always hear footsteps coming from upstairs when no one was up there, or even home at all. It became so normal that we were always surprised when friends mentioned it. It was the norm for us. It wasn’t the only thing that happened while I lived there. One night I was up late in our living room and my parents were asleep. I heard a scratching at the backdoor, which I assumed was our dog wanting back inside. I got half way across the room before remembering that the dog was

I am a certified Law Enforcement Officer in the State of Georgia and have been since 1995. I no longer work for a law enforcement agency but I’m still certified. I worked as a Jailer for for 2 years before I was sent to Mandate and I could really tell some horror story’s about working a jail and even more horror story’s about working the road. I’ve seen things I can never unsee that still give me nightmares. I’ve seen the worst of humanity and I’ve seen the best! I’ve seen heart wrenching death and have experienced fear for my life and the life of others. I’ve watched as someone took their own life with a 12 gauge sawed off shotgun, that was so close to me that was sprayed

The Doll That Moved

08 October 2020 | Haunted items, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

My daughter had gotten a job and needed someone to take care of the baby. I told her I would love to watch my grandbaby. I had a few baby things for her to play with but I wanted to get her a doll too. We were walking around in Goodwill when I saw the cutest little doll! I checked the baby doll out and it looked like new. I saw that it required batteries but I probably wouldn’t use that feature. When my granddaughter came over we would play with the doll and other toys I had. After she would go home, I put the doll in a chair by my husband’s office. One day I was in the kitchen when I heard a voice saying mama. I walked

On a summer night at the end of July in 2008 we were camping while working to sell our wares at a flea market in Huntington, West Virginia. It was hot in the camper so I got up and walked outside where I found me nephew sitting and texting on his cell phone. It was about three in the morning. Deciding to take a walk in the night air we made our way about a hundred yards to the end of the long flea market building and sat down on a concrete slab. The light that was on top of the building illuminated the area where we sat. To our front there was a big open field and behind the field there was a tree line that led to a

The Man Outside the Door

02 October 2020 | Doppelgangers, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I have always believed in the paranormal and supernatural, and I used to wish I was sensitive and could have experienced more odd occurrences of the sort. I don’t wish that anymore. I’ve had a few occurrences through life that I would describe as paranormal, the scariest of which involved a doppelgänger of my father. I’d always felt uncomfortable, when living at my parents house, with coming downstairs by myself at night. From childhood to adulthood, it always made me feel as though I was being watched. Most times, if I had to come down after everyone else had gone up, it was to get a bottle of water from the pantry. The kitchen was set to the left of the staircase, and I had to walk down the length

From Ritual to Reality

23 September 2020 | G. Michael Vasey's Nightmare Corner, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I recently was a guest on an excellent podcast called Peer Beyond the Veil. That episode is out now and covers black eyed kids, magic and much more… “We have all, at some time, heard the creaking footsteps on the landing at night when we should be asleep, pulled up the duvet, tucked our toes inside and waited, our little hearts beating away in the silence until we finally realise it was just a sibling or a parent and we laugh and return to sleep. But for some, the footsteps outside the bedroom door don’t belong to anybody. At least not anybody that we can see. Those children, many of them, learn to shut it out. But some show no fear. They untuck their little feet from the warmth of

Who’s That Knockin’ at the Door?

22 September 2020 | Haunted houses, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

My mom was sitting at the kitchen table, up early as usual. The time was around 5 am. She sat reading her Bible while puffing on her ever present cigarette. Our house was an old parish as the church was catty-cornered across the street from us. It had been a one bedroom house with a front and back porch. As our family grew to three boys and three girls, my dad had added on to the house and enclosed the porches to become part of the house and added two new bedrooms with a basement below (as my mom was very scared of tornadoes). Where the back porch had been enclosed it was made a part of the kitchen. As you were sitting at the table you could look down

It Followed us on Our School Trip!

21 September 2020 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I was on a residential trip in year 3 and we only slept there for one night. All the girls were in one big room and all the boys were in one big room. We were at Tatton Hall and it was time to go to sleep, so all the girls settled down and went to bed. There were bunk beds and I was on the top bunk as well as my friend, Taylor, who slept right next to a small window which was a frosted window. In the morning we all woke up and looked out the window. There, looking straight into the room, was a man who wore a top hat and a suit. Because it was a frosted window it looked like the man had no face,

Leigh Woods

In May 2017 I found myself going out a lot more on my Mountain Bike, I was getting bored of cruising around the streets so I wanted to go for a trail/woodland bike ride. I’ve never been to leigh Woods before then, Personally I don’t think I’ll be going alone again. After some research into a few different areas, Leigh Woods seemed to be my best bet, Living only a couple miles away it was a nice bike ride. On arriving, It looked very peaceful and I was almost in a dream like state by my first look of the place. For a woodland area in England let alone Bristol, It was amazing. On going into the woods I remembered seeing different colours at the start of each trail signifying

Friendly Ghosts

08 September 2020 | Haunted houses, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

After I graduated college, my friends and I were a bit tapped out (we had little money) but we lived in Buffalo where there were many very old apartments that rented rather cheaply. A friend and his new wife were looking for someplace to live and I accompanied them to look at an apartment they were considering renting. I don’t recall much of what the apartment looked like but I remember going into the living room and having to leave right away. I felt something unnatural in there. I was sure that the apartment was haunted. I never said anything to my friends because I thought they would think I was nuts and I didn’t want to put a negative spin on a place that they had settled on as

I live in Montana, with my husband and 3 kids. About 6 years ago, we found the perfect starter house. At the time we moved in, my youngest son was 3, and my daughters were 6 and 9. That seems important, because as they get older, our mysterious 6th resident seems to bother them less and less. The first time I heard her, I was alone in the house with my son. He was in my bedroom, watching Mickey Mouse, and I was in my kitchen baking. We have a partial wall with a window to the living room, from the kitchen. As I was taking a pie out of the oven, I heard a laugh. A high pitched, little girls giggle.. that could not have possibly come from my

About a decade ago, the economy picked me up out of my apartment and firmly plopped me back into my parents’ house in southern Denver. I adore my parents and get along with them really well, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of being a failure in not being able to take care of myself financially. In hindsight, that was a common struggle for many of my millennial counterparts during that time. On top of this, internal political issues at my job of four years had encouraged me to jump ship and land in a less-than-stellar management job at a big box pet store. The stress of this job really took a toll on me. Long hours of late nights, followed by early mornings, on top of really foul company

31 August 2020 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

When I was 16, I got into a wreck in my Dad’s truck. I’d had my license for just 1 week when this happened and the truck was my Dad’s work truck. He had his own business. I was in deep trouble. Luckily for me, the guy who came to tow the truck was someone my dad had known from his teenage years. The man’s name was Otto. So my Dad rode with Otto since he wanted the truck towed to our house. When my Dad had cooled off enough to talk to me he told me about Otto and how they had both been street racers (was that a term used in the late 60’s?). Anyway the main street in Salt Lake is State Street and weekend nights teenagers

God’s Helper?

26 August 2020 | Angels, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I was 18 at the time this happened in 1980. I lived out in the country where there were ditches and canals on both sides of the road and no street lights. I was heading home about midnight and felt real sleepy, but thought if I opened the windows and let the air hit my face it would help and the next thing I know I am in a ditch. I remember it was next to an orange orchard and remember my family saying never stop there at night because people camp out in there. So there I am crawling out of my car and the ditch and I noticed a house with a porch light on. I headed towards that and all of a sudden I see headlights pop
