Shadow Witch and A Haunted Neighborhood

15 May 2019 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Old hag, Shadow people, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I was born and raised in Tucson,Az. The youngest of four children. When I was about 5 years old we moved into the house I would spend most of my childhood. It was a new neighborhood at the time in the early 80”s on the northwest side of town. The house was a simple 3-bedroom ranch style house. It looked pretty much like all the other houses on the block. I was pretty fortunate that there were a few kids my age to play with. I became good friends with the kid next door. Wesley was his name. He was a year younger but he loved G.I. Joe as much as I did. We played G.I. Joe all the time and when we weren’t playing G.I.Joe we were exploring the

Rider in the Forest

30 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

We are short on stories and submissions at the moment. So, if you have had a paranormal experience – do please tell us! Anyway, this one happened to me many years ago. We were camping in the English Lake District – amazing lace if you have never been. We were with family friends and we had all walked down to the local pub maybe a mile or so from the campsite for a pub dinner and a few drinks. I would be a teenager at the time so no beer. It was dark when we set off up the country road huddled together around the single flashlight that we had as a group. As we walked somewhere around the halfway point. We all heard the faint galloping noise of a

Little Boot Prints in the Mud

26 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

When I was younger growing up in a third world country, I noticed that my fear of darkness was not because of the inability to see what’s around me, yet the presence that I felt came out when it turned pitch black. My mother used to leave my sister and I alone with our grandparents. Their home was very humble and small. Although inside not perfect, the outside garden was very nice. We had a mango tree that fed us on occasions. Poverty was the living standard for the norm in my area. One occasion that stuck to me vividly would be the night I came outside to play after the rain. We had more mud than anything that day. I saw very tiny cowboy boot footprints leading to the backyard

Haunted Madagascar

25 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Another place I haven’t been to, but I would love to go is no other than haunted Madagascar. Haunted? Oh yes, probably one of the most haunted places in the world. My uncle Jose “Joe” Causing, a former Merchant Marine has been to Madagascar, it was a two day stopover. What Uncle Joe says about Madagascar: “Madagascar is a very beautiful place. The flora is breathtaking. The island is one of the largest islands in the world, it covers 226,917 square miles. There is all kinds of animal life, there are lemurs, chameleons, weevils and the Malagasy giant rat. When I came across this rat, I thought it was a kangaroo. It’s not a scary looking sewer rat, it’s actually kind of cute. Now, back to your original question. Is

Old Stinker – The Wolds Werewolf

18 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

In May 2016, reports of a werewolf in Hull were front-page news. Sighted by a local woman, she described it as follows;  “It was stood upright one moment. The next it was down on all fours running like a dog. I was terrified. It bounded along on all fours, then stopped and reared up on to its back legs, before running down the embankment towards the water. It vaulted 30ft over to the other side and vanished up the embankment and over a wall into some allotments.” According to the Daily Mirror report, another couple saw “something tall and hairy” eating a German Shepherd dog by the side of the drain. They stopped to get a closer look and saw it jump an 8ft fence, before vanishing into the night,

The Haunted Factory

15 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Back in high school, I entered a summer program at a college in a nearby city. You basically stay there for several weeks and take classes, and do fun stuff. But there was plenty of time to goof off and run around the city. Well, there was an old factory building in the city that had been abandoned god knows how long ago. I don’t even know what the factory was for. My friends and I decided to go explore this factory. As you can tell by now, exploring dangerous, abandoned places is kind of my thing… It’s summer, but we dressed in jeans and hoodies to protect ourselves for whatever mess we might find in there. There were so many windows, and all of them were broken. We even

Little Hands

11 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I’ve never lived in a haunted house, but my mother did as a teen. Other houses on her street had strange things going on too. A few homes away from her lived a man and his family. One night, one of his daughters went to bed with a bad headache. The next day, she was dead – she’d passed away from an aneurysm. After the funeral, the family went away to get their minds off the tragedy, and the father asked my uncle – my mom’s brother – to check on their pets. My mom and dad (they were dating then) went with my uncle; my mother had heard there was a grand piano and she wanted to play it, and my dad was studying to be a veterinarian. After

A Ghostly Sight from My Sleeping Bag

08 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

It was another hot summer in Texas in 1981, and I was excited to be going to summer camp with my best friend to Camp Champions in Marble Falls just outside of Austin. The camp was located on the banks of Lake LBJ, which was part of the Highland Lakes, a chain of six fresh water lakes in Central Texas formed by six dams on the lower Colorado River. The lake-front scene would later set the stage of a remarkable paranormal event. There was excitement in the air as my friend and I were riding in the back of my mom’s station wagon, playing air drums to a new song called “Tom Sawyer” being played on the radio by my generous mother, which was a lifesaving reprieve from The Carpenters

The Headless Man

01 April 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Violet Fenning is a celebrity in Singapore… here is her story. This incident took place back at the old Mediacorp campus in 2016. I had wanted a photo of myself in my sponsored outfit to credit the sponsors. So, I put the camera on timer mode and posed for a few shots. While I was doing that, a friend who was with me, remarked, “Why is it suddenly so dark outside?” I didn’t think much of her comment then. The next day, while on my journey to Genting with my family, I started going through the camera’s images to delete the unwanted ones. When I saw this photo and zoomed in on it, I was scared speechless. My husband, who was sitting next to me, had never believed in the supernatural until that moment.  When I returned to Singapore,

Another Haunted Hotel

22 March 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

My last book was Motel Hell and it was a collection of reviews by scared guests of various hotels and motels around the world. It’s amazing what you can find on TripAdvisor! Anyway, here is another review of a Wetherspoons in Bodmin, Cornwall for you. It’s not in the book…….. but the place looks creepy! A reviewer on TripAdvisor said of this Bodmin pub and hotel – Chapel-an-Gansblydhen – We stayed in Bodmin for 2 nights and visited the Wetherspoons converted Wesleyan Methodist chapel on the first night. We loved the atmosphere of the building and the original features that have been retained were a pleasure to see. We spent the evening envisaging what it would have been like in the mid-1800s, and the comings and goings of the churchgoers

The Shadow in the Darkness

25 February 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

In line with my last book – Motel Hell – I remain interested in hotel hauntings and experiences. I found this experience on Reddit. When I was 15 I traveled to Europe with my family. We stayed in Ettal, Germany in a small inn for a few nights. My parents had a double on the second floor, my sisters had the double bedroom next to theirs, and I was lucky enough to have a single room all to myself at the far end of the hall. When we went to check in to our rooms, as soon as I entered the hallway our rooms were in, I remember almost feeling as though I walked into a ‘wall’ of… bad energy? I just felt so unnerved and uneasy in that hallway,

The British Soldier in the Mist

30 January 2019 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I used to spend my Christmas holidays with my family on my Uncle’s ex-wife’s farm in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. Many years ago, this area was the location of many skirmishes between the Xhosa people who were moving south after being displaced by the Zulus, and the British who were deployed to the area to defend colonial settlers. There was more than one battle on the farm, where there is an old graveyard with only a few remaining grave markers of unknown British soldiers. Each simple cast iron cross with only with the words – ‘Here lies the body of a Brave British Solder’ The farm is situated at the mouth of the Kariga River next to the sea and was an idyllic place for young children
