This October we are going to bring you some of the most interesting #true paranormal cases we can find. You can discover more true, terrifying accounts of the paranormal right here.   Back in the early 1970’s, the case of the Highgate Vampire was repeatedly in the news. It was a scary and somewhat grisly story and I recall reading in horror and fascination everything the media printed at that time. In retrospect, the subplot of two men interested in the occult and determined to outdo each other is even more interesting. Highgate cemetery was built in the 1830’s and was the place to be buried in society at the time. Many famous people are interred there including Karl Marx. In line with the style of the time, the graves are

Halloween Case #7 – Did I See the Ohio Dog Man?

10 October 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

This October we are going to bring you some of the most interesting #true paranormal cases we can find. You can discover more true, terrifying accounts of the paranormal right here. I’m 54-year-old and was born and raised in the Cumberland/Appalachian mountains of Virginia. I played in the woods alone, explored from mountain top to mountain top even when I was little – as young as 5 or 6. That was my backyard and my playground. I’ve worked, lived, hunted and camped in those mountains all my life. I’ve trudged those paths many-many times in the pitch dark and slept out on the ground without even a light to see by. Not once have I ever been uncomfortable in the woods or seen anything unusual – Same with Kentucky, Tennessee, North

Halloween Case #5: The ‘Shadow Woman’ Who Haunts My Bedroom

This October we are going to bring you some of the most interesting #true paranormal cases we can find. You can discover more true, terrifying accounts of the paranormal right here.   My phone was ringing. Normally, I would open my eyes before answering the phone then try to go back to sleep, but this time I opened my eyes and was immediately startled as there was a shadow of a female figure with long black hair parted down the middle and what seemed like a long flowing gown or robe. I could not see her face, it was shadowed, but I knew it was a woman. I just knew. Because I’ve experienced encounters like this in the past, I’ve learned to confront and rebuke these spirits by calling out the name of

Halloween Case #2: Can A Ghost Move Into Your House?

03 October 2017 | Haunted houses, Haunted items, Haunted locations, Your Stories

This October we are going to bring you some of the most interesting #true paranormal cases we can find. You can discover more true, terrifying accounts of the paranormal right here. I live in a newly built house. To my knowledge there have been no deaths on this plot of land. There have been no graveyards in this area. My phone has been randomly turning off a lot lately. I’ll turn it on for a few minutes, and then it just turns off-the batteries fully charged and everything. I don’t know what’s wrong. Same with my laptop, only it won’t turn on until you’ve tried it at least five times. I also feel an unknown presence everywhere in my house, but it’s the strongest in my room. I have absolutely

The Quarry in Winter

11 September 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I walk my dog four times a day, whatever the weather or time of year. It gives both of us exercise but also gives me time to think, away from the burden of the home and its distractions. Our rambles around the small English country village in which we live, rarely follow the same route. There is much to see in Kent, and the little village of Charing has some real ancient gems if one is prepared to search for them. The village can claim to be over a thousand years old, having seen settlements from the iron age, through the Saxons and Romans into the medieval period, and right up to the present day. The high street is beautiful, meandering up The Hill past the historic market place, palace

I Think My Hotel Room is Haunted?

07 July 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

By now, you will all know of my interest in haunted hotels 0 well, here is another this time from Reddit…. Taking a 12 day vacation in Honolulu, and I’m on my 4th day here, and it’s around 10:01 pm as of right now. The lamp in the corner consistently flickers on and off, but this I can attribute to the outlet not working that well. The other things I can’t explain though. My family is constantly looking for things that inexplicably disappear and reappear in different places, and we’re arguing a lot more than we should be on a vacation. Last night I heard loud, very fast stomping above our room. It always goes from the Ceiling above my window and ends in front of my hotel door. The

The Ancients Walk At Night

06 July 2017 | Haunted locations, Shadow people, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

This story happened when my friends and I were traveling through the state of Utah. After having a few drinks at a local bar, we went back to the hotel. I looked at my watch and found that it was already ten in the evening. My friends are already asleep on a separate bed and all the lights are off except the one coming from the balcony where the light is still on. I felt restless. As a habit, I would grab my phone and started checking Facebook, scrolling down until I get sleepy and doze off. It wasn’t long before my sleep was interrupted by a movement in the room. I thought it’s one of my friends already awake and preparing for a day of hiking. I found it

The Crying Ghost of Galveston

28 June 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

I decided to get away for a week or so during the first week of December, so I headed down to Galveston. I checked in at my usual hotel, got my laptop set up and then went out to have a bite of dinner. After returning to the hotel, I got all settled in and since darkness had fallen, I decided on a nice, quiet evening in my suite. I felt a bit tired from my drive and decided to go to bed early. After about half an hour, I’d finally gotten comfortable. Then, I felt a drop in the air temperature. I smiled and closed my eyes. From the opposite side of the room, there came a low moan. My eyes snapped open and I sat bolt upright in

A Paranormal Experience In Room 217 At The Stanley Hotel

23 June 2017 | Audible Activity, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

While staying the night in room 217 at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Parks, Colorado, my partner and I experienced three strange events we will probably remember for the rest of our lives. When you hear about the Stanley Hotel, you probably think of Stephen King’s horror novel called The Shining, or Stanley Kubrick’s horror film also called The Shining. However, in addition to a famous book and film, the hotel also has had a reputation for decades of reported ghost activity . Claims of paranormal activity have attracted visitors from around the world. In 1974, famous horror writer Stephen King stayed the night in room 217. Interestingly, his stay at the Stanley had inspired him to write his famous horror novel The Shining. It is also the room where

The Shadow That Absorbed Light

20 June 2017 | Haunted locations, Shadow people, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Hi, my name is Shawn, I’m a Christian, born and raised in south eastern Pennsylvania. There have been a few “interesting” events in my life that one could say touch on the unexplained or super natural. Somewhere back around 1996 – 1997 I had two separate events that shook me pretty good, then a third later in life around 2003. The first took place at work, I was a shipper for a small company; my work area was in the basement of an old building. The building was one of those old 3 story industrial brick buildings that you’d have to walk upstairs to get to the first floor. The basement was only 3 feet below ground level and that is where I spent 8 hours of my day, Monday

The Most Haunted Hotel in the USA?

14 June 2017 | Haunted locations, Your True Encounters

Staying at the Chicago Congress Plaza Hotel and Convention Center doesn’t sound like a great idea based on some of the reviews I read. We walked into the lobby of this hotel and thought how beautiful it looked. We were very excited. However, the were very few people working the desk and check-in took a long time. Finally after getting our key we went up to our room. Since the lobby looked fantastic, we thought our room would be too. However, as we unlocked the door to our room we were very disappointed. The room was very dimly lit with one lightbulb in the middle of a very high ceiling. The wallpaper was coming off the walls, and the curtains were falling off their rods. The carpet in the room

The Hatman

07 June 2017 | Haunted locations, Shadow people, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

One night, when I was about 13 or 14, I was lying in bed in that half-asleep state before you really doze off. I was staring at my wall that faced the front of my house and it was very dark. Suddenly, I saw a figure walk through my wall towards me. I could tell my his shape that he was a man, but I saw no other distinguishable features other than it seemed as if he was wearing a long cloak and a flat rimmed hat. I was kind of frozen as I watched him move closer. He came right next to me, bent down and kissed the top of my head and it felt like ice had touched me. That snapped me out of my stupor and I

The Haunted School

05 June 2017 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Cornelius Piros is a young man from Malaysia that I met in Nagoya through mutual friends. He had been a practicing medical doctor in Malaysia before he took a year sabbatical to come to Japan and learn the Japanese language. After meeting him at a series of parties and social events, he came to be a good friend with my wife and I, coming to our home in Nagoya many times for dinner parties, BBQs, and so on. Cornelius’ encounter with Japanese ghosts occurred in Malaysia when he was a student. I was a student at the Anglo Chinese School in Ipoh, Malaysia. It was a high school with a long history, built in 1893. At the time, I was living in the school dorm, in the student hostel called

Hotel Poltergeist

17 May 2017 | Haunted locations, Poltergeist, Your True Encounters

Imagine checking into your hotel room only to experience poltergeist activity? No? Well, the Holiday Inn Express in Leeds City Center apparently has poltergeist – at least according to this Tripadvisor reviewer.. This hotel is great value for money and is ideally situated in the centre of Leeds and no more than a 20 min walk to most places that you will want to visit. The bar area is fine and the breakfast cooked and the basic fayre that you would expect. The rooms are of ample size and the bed was very comfortable. Service from the hotel team was great throughout. Two things let it down for us and hence not five stars: – There were only decaf coffee sachets in the room and after a heavy night out,

A Haunted Classroom?

11 May 2017 | Audible Activity, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

This happened in 1966 when I was ten. It isn’t very dramatic, but it was quite scary enough for me. I was at a convent boarding school in the United Kingdom. The school was shaped like a Z with the fourth-year classroom at the bottom right at ground level with the third-year classroom between it and the rest of the school. A long corridor ran from the fourth-year classroom and past the third. It had a window at the top, but above my height so I couldn’t actually see into the classroom. At weekends the children could watch television after dinner and before bed. Toward the end of dinner, two girls would be sent to the third-year classroom to put chairs out, as this was where the only television set
