A Haunted Vegas Hotel

20 April 2017 | Haunted locations, Your True Encounters

They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but not apparently when it comes to the happenings at the Luxor …. Here are two accounts of ghostly experiences by people who stayed there. Me and my 18 month old son stayed in room 19-207. Let me start off by saying my son is a great baby and is very loving and never gives me hard time. We arrived on Monday. Our Suite was amazing, and we loved it. As soon as I unpacked, my son started to act unlike himself. He was biting me, hitting me, and pulling my hair. He tried to scratch my eyes out. He started to hit himself, pull his own hair and eyelashes. He pulled his ears and bit himself, then he tried to destroy

The Turkish Ghost of Prague

18 April 2017 | Haunted locations, Your True Encounters

Living in the Czech Republic, it is not difficult to collect ghost stories from the country and I can tell you, it is a country full of tales, myths, and legends. There are many ghosts stories about Prague of course. Wether these are true, half truths for the tourist or even just myth, they can be very entertaining. Here is an example. A Turkish man is said to haunt Týnský dvůr, Prague. The story behind his haunting is as follows. He became engaged to a pretty young Czech woman and then returned to his homeland to ask his parents‘ permission to marry her. As the Turk was gone for a quite a long time, his fiancée, hearing nothing of him, began to believe that he had died, or that he

The Mounting Block

03 April 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Almost forgotten in the small village of Charing, at the junction of The Hill, and Pett Lane, stands an ancient white stone mounting block with three time worn steps. You may have to search a little if you wish to see this, as during the summer months it becomes overgrown with weeds and the growing branches of a hedge close by. It is an interesting reminder of the old days of Tudor Charing, when it was first placed here for the convenience of riders in the village, just a few yards up from the old blacksmiths workshop and forge. Few of todays present villagers even know it is there, or indeed what it is, and even fewer have heard the story attached to it, a story of a young highwayman

The Flying Ghosts of Headcorn and Lashenden – Spectres with Wings.

23 March 2017 | Audible Activity, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

The sound of throbbing engines is never far away from the busy Kent village of Headcorn. Its charming high street is always crowded with cars and motorcycles, as it is still a very commercial place of small shops, offices, supermarkets and banks, set either side of a road that leads from Maidstone to Tenterton  and from there, on to the coast at Rye. This is a very pretty road and a favourite with both sports car enthusiasts and bikers, as it winds its  meandering way across the countryside, I drive it a lot myself, a most enjoyable trip in a fast open car in early spring’ before the roads get tangled with tourists. High above the village, in the warm summer skies, still more engines can be heard, as Headcorn

The Haunting of Victorville Base, California

04 March 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

For much of my life I worked as a barber at a military base in California. When I first started at Victorville I noticed the frame on my mirror was broken. I thought nothing of it at first as there were several hairdressers, and sometimes we would grab the nearest mirror on our way to wax a client, or a client in general would use one. So, I assumed someone had accidentally broken it. No sweat. I was issued another one but within a week the same thing happened. My boss questioned me in a joking manner as to how I kept breaking the frames. I joked back that at least it wasn’t the mirror and so no “bad luck” x 14, but in all seriousness, I had not caused

A Haunted Anniversary

20 February 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Today we return to the reviews on Tripadvisor.com and to The Town House, Durham, England. It appears that one couple celebrating their anniversary had an experience they might like to forget……. My partner and I stayed for our anniversary, for one night. We booked the nautical room which was very cramped- especially for the price we paid. The location is very central, and ideal for seeing Durham. Overall, the hotel is well furnished and maintained, however, one word of warning, the room we stayed in was haunted! I must be the most sceptical person in the world- never believed in such things, however, clear as day a figure was next to the bed! (defiantly not associated with any alcohol) after my partner ‘felt’ someone/ something in the room- I turned

A Ghostly Battle In A Storm..

17 February 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

My Dad told me this creepy story several times when I was growing up. His childhood wasn’t so great and so he liked to escape at weekends or whenever he could. His best friend, Jack, and he, loved to cycle, camp and hike around East Yorkshire and that’s what they did just anytime they could. It was the years directly after the war and there was little traffic or other people to bother them. One night, they pitched their small two-man tent in a farmer’s field near Long Marston. They knew very well that, in the vicinity, many years ago, a battle had taken place there during the English Civil war – The battle of Marston Moor. It was partly why they were there as they both had a love

The Tasmanian Hotel That Used to be A School…

07 February 2017 | Audible Activity, Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

The Rydges Hotel, Hobart, Tasmania was apparently a converted school. One visitor sensed the kids may still be there. Here is his review from tripadviser.com. The hotel looks nice enough from out side and was a long way out of the city centre. It has all the amenities one expects form a 4 star. The first thing I noticed was there was hardly any cars in the carpark and also not many guests in the hotel at all, the bar and restaurant were all empty even at breakfast time. The hotel has a nice view of the oval, but an eerie vibe. Believe what you like, but at 440am I awoke to what I thought was the sound of Kids playing in the room next door; thumping a ball against

The Old Lady Ghost Hiding in the Darkness

01 February 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

When I was in high school and was probably around 17-18 years old, my friends and I were walking down the street in the dark. Now this street was well lit except for one section where the street light had blown out. We were a little nervous to go through this patch because it just felt eerie. As we reached the dark area, we noticed a white figure, next to a mailbox. It was not a white figure it was an old woman in a white night gown just standing there staring at us. We figured as we got closer that it would disappear but it did not. We ran away as fast as we could even though her house was on the other side of the dark patch and made someone

Ghosts In Room 1170!!!!

18 January 2017 | Audible Activity, Haunted locations, Shadow people, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

Today, we return to reviews at tripadvisor.com for some more true scary experiences and encounters. It really is quite an unintended source of supernatural material! The Rosen Inn International, Orlando, looks like a normal large hotel. Located conveniently close to Universal Studios, it must do very well. However, apparently, one room has a permanent guest… Do not stay in room 1170. I booked a room at a great price. Our keys did not work the 1st time. Went to front desk to get the keys to work. They did not work. We had security help us to get in. Once we were in all this things started to happen. Knocks on the wall when no one was staying on either side of us. A dark shadow in the corner. Foot

Was This The Ghost Of My Lost Brother?

13 January 2017 | Haunted locations, Your Stories, Your True Encounters

There have been quite a few things happen in our house. Normally things just move from place to place when we are not looking. Sometimes we hear footsteps but the most interesting sighting happened to me a few years ago, Now you have to understand that this house was built for my family by my father. Before the house was here it was just open land. We moved in when I was ten years old. This incident took place when I was with my parents watching TV in our living room. I thought I saw something standing on the stairs. When I looked, I didn’t see anything? This happened quite a few times until I catch sight of a little boy who looked like he was my age with blonde

The Haunted Retlaw Plaza

09 January 2017 | Haunted locations, Your True Encounters

Continuing with the theme of reviews on TripAdvisor.com, apparently the Retlaw Plaza in Fond du Lac, Wisconisn has some issues with unwanted guests too… “Terrifying!!” Reviewed August 9, 2014 When I checked in, they couldn’t find my reservation but assured me they would find a room for me. The room was okay but I could tell it hadn’t been occupied in awhile because there was a thin layer of dust throughout the room and a dead bouquet of flowers. I didn’t go to bed until almost 1:00 a.m. But woke up abruptly at 2:51 a.m. I could hear this “roaring” sound and the water faucet was turned on at full blast!! I then heard loud noises outside my room similar to a freight elevator. But my room was the FURTHEST

Beware Room 10, It’s Haunted!

06 January 2017 | Haunted houses, Haunted locations, Poltergeist, Your True Encounters

TripAdvisor.com is a site to look for things to do and places to stay. The reviews can often be fun to read and sometimes, they can be very, very creepy too…..Here are some reviews of the Overland Hotel & Saloon in Nevada. It seems Room 10 may have a problem! I stayed in the room across from room 10. I could hear heavy breathing coming from the hallway so I opened the door to realize nobody was there – not a single soul in the corridor. I went to room 10 and because it was empty I thought why not? So I opened the door with anticipation. And I walked through the room. I felt a strange presence as I walked through to the bedroom. As if somebody was watching

Fish, Chips, and a Demon?

04 January 2017 | Ghost hunting, Haunted locations

If you have ever been to the City of Hull – the 2017 City of Culture, you may well have heard of Bob Carver’s fish and chips. Reputed to serve the best fish and chips in Hull and the local area, the firm has been around a long time – almost 130-years to be precise. I can vouch personally for their mushy peas. Back in 1973, Bob Carvers purchased a building off of Hessle Road to use as a food processing plant for the fish and chip business that has developed something of an evil reputation. The Fish and Chip business occupies only one floor of the four story building and people who have worked there have reported many strange occurrences. The other floors are unoccupied. The building used to

Remember The Alamo: The Lingering Ghost

27 December 2016 | Haunted locations, Your Stories

During my last visit to the Alamo I saw a young man striding toward me looking like he knew where he was going. I watched him walk across the ruin and I thought he was a reenactor. He was over six feet, bearded and his hair was dark brown, slightly curling, and loose to his collar. He was dressed in very authentic-looking period costume. His rust-colored trousers were tucked into black, high boots that showed stirrup wear. He wore a wide belt of plain dark brown leather with a simple brass buckle. But it was his shirt that impressed me most. It was made of heavy, old-fashioned off-white broadcloth. It had a pointed collar and a placket in front, and the ties at the top of the placket were undone.
